So, this guy walks into pro camera shop….

And says “I’m selling all my gear and going all in Mirrorless.”

And, that’s it. Yes, I am doing it folks! I’ve been working on selling off all my DSLR equipment…still in process. But, I’m doing it! Don’t believe it can be done? Here’s a pro who has made it happen…

Can’t wait to share samples when I make the transition, but look for those to come soon!

Trying to fit an elephant into a thimble again…

Note to self: I love photography. I love cameras. I’ve even gotten bitten by the “tech” side of my equipment. I love taking people’s portraits. I love taking pictures of things. And, if it’s suddenly just not that simple and basic, then I’ve gotten sidetracked. String on finger. Note on forehead. All aboard the choo-choo train! In case your wondering “what the ?” Sometimes being a photographer can be  a challenge. Just like everything else in life, yup!

A designer trapped inside of a photographer’s box

I have been completely immersed in a photographer’s world for so long now it’s hard to look beyond thinking in terms of images. My background is also graphic design, but it has been a while. I am learning #adobeillustratorCS6 which is amazing! The funny thing is that every time I go to design a logo or flyer I find myself dragging an image into the concept. Do I embrace this as my “thing” or “style,” or do I keep pushing to go beyond images to more graphically driven concepts? I suppose it depends on what I am designing, or whom I am designing it for. Left to myself, even it is only a silhouette or trace of an image I feel more “connected” to the design. Perhaps I can consider my style “organic?” Is there such a thing? Or, maybe I can consider myself supercool and “with it” since any social media or marketing guru can tell you most of us have become image obsessed. I like a little texture or pattern with my font, thank you.

Dinner by rain and candlelight

Last night I was @ a networking dinner meeting, and who knew networking could be so exciting! And, dramatic! Thunder, lightning, monsoon rains with tepid a temperature that kept us @ our table outside under the awning and next to a bonfire. Wow! We ordered “tapas’ style as a group with wine tasting and great conversation. @seasons52  it was divine!

Lovely Talent Headshots Update

My SIL loves doing extra work. It’s something she really gets a kick out of. Of course, whenever she gets a new look we’ve got to update her headshots and get to play. Keep your eye out…you never know, you just might see her walk across the screen on TV!
